Counselling or psychiatry: how do you know what you need?

A simple guide to the difference, and when to see a doctor.

Counselling

A counsellor offers a space to talk, understand patterns, and build ways of coping. Counsellors do not prescribe medication.

Psychiatry

A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who can diagnose conditions and prescribe medication when needed.
